Nartiang, Dec. 9 -- Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Tuesday said the government is finalising a structured salary system for ad hoc and Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) teachers in the state.

"A structured salary system for ad hoc and SSA teachers would provide job security, incremental salary increases, and post-retirement benefits," the Chief Minister said while addressing the closing ceremony of the Golden Jubilee Celebration of Nartiang Presbyterian Higher Secondary School at Modop village in West Jaintiq Hills district.

Sangma said he expects a final decision on a structured salary system before Christmas.
