Srinagar, March 28 -- Nine flights were cancelled at Srinagar Airport on Friday due to strong winds triggered by a steep pressure gradient, officials said.

Airport authorities stated that due to the steep pressure gradient- a weather-related issue- winds reached speeds of 17 knots, gusting up to 27 knots. As a result, Srinagar Airport could accommodate only 11 arrivals and 11 departures from 6:30 a.m. to 4:50 p.m.

The adverse weather conditions led to the cancellation of nine flights, while two were diverted to alternate airports. Several other flights experienced significant delays.
