Hyderabad, Jan. 11 -- Telangana Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy on Sunday evening directed officials to act with utmost strictness in cases involving misuse of government funds, particularly irregularities in stamp duty payments.

Reviewing the issue at a meeting with revenue officials at his residence in the Minister Quarters here, Ponguleti said audits of transactions over the past five years revealed irregularities in about 4,800 cases out of 52 lakh transactions. Nearly 3,000 cases were reported from Rangareddy and Yadadri districts alone.

He asserted that the amounts involved would be recovered without fail.
