Maharajganj, Aug. 25 -- Following the strict directives of District Magistrate Santosh Kumar Sharma, the district administration has taken swift and decisive action against urea black marketing in Maharajganj. An FIR has been lodged against three individuals found guilty of purchasing urea in quantities far exceeding their agricultural requirements and selling it illegally at inflated prices. The cases were registered on Monday.
According to a report by the District Agriculture Officer, Nijamuddin, a resident of village Hardidali, purchased a total of 35 bags of neem-coated urea in 17 separate transactions during July 2025. However, revenue records from Nautanwa Tehsil indicate that he owns only 1.410 hectares of land.
