Mumbai, March 8 -- With women becoming entrepreneurs through Self-Help Groups (SHG) due to financial support schemes of the central and the state governments, the rural economy is getting stronger, asserted Maharashtra Governor C P Radhakrishnan on Saturday.
He was speaking at the state-level concluding ceremony of 'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao' function organised by the Department of Women & Child Development and the felicitation of girls at Raj Bhavan on occasion of International Women's Day.
The Governor said that contribution of women is important for development of the country along with the family and noted that the women who were felicitated today are doing remarkable work in various fields.
