Imphal, April 17 -- A significant step toward strengthening inland water transport infrastructure in Manipur was initiated on Friday with the convening of a high-level meeting for a techno-economic feasibility study and preparation of a Detailed Project Report (DPR) covering the Barak River and its tributaries, along with the Imphal and Nambul rivers.

The meeting was chaired by the Additional Chief Secretary (Transport), Government of Manipur, and brought together senior officials from the Inland Waterways Authority of India, representatives of M/s Techmillenials Pvt. Ltd., and officers from key state departments including Public Works, Water Resources, Commerce & Industry, Tourism, and Settlement & Land Records.
