Agartala, Sept. 20 -- Former BJP minister in Tripura and sitting Congress MLA Sudip Roybarman urged Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha to ensure that this year's Durga Puja celebrations are free from plastic pollution.

He observed, "Every year, BJP leaders, even at the grassroots level, erect flex and plastic-made banners featuring their photographs with good wishes across the state, and there is no regulation to manage them. Ultimately, it creates a nuisance, disturbs the celebratory mode of the people, and generates huge waste."The government is required to impose restrictions on the erecting of flexes and banners of the leaders in the public spaces and also ensure that those flexes, when they become waste, must be managed properly; so that it...
