Sonbhadra, Nov. 16 -- A major accident occurred on Saturday when a stone quarry of Krishna Mining Works in Billi Markundi suddenly caved in. One worker has been confirmed dead, while at least 15 others are feared trapped under the debris.
The identity of the deceased has not yet been established.
According to preliminary information, the collapse reportedly happened during drilling operations in the afternoon.
Nine compressor machines were in use, each operated by two workers, putting a total of 18 workers at the site during the incident. Following the accident, the quarry owner and his partner allegedly fled the scene.
