Stock market extends gains for 2nd day; Sensex rallied 610 points
Mumbai/New Delhi, March 6 -- India's benchmark indices continued the positive momentum and ended on a strong note as the BSE Sensex on Thursday added another gain of about 610 points at 74,340.09 mainly due to cooling of crude and potential negotiations on US tariffs improved global sentiments and fueled this rebound.
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) rose 207.40 points at 22,544.70.
The selling off by the Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) continued as they sold equities in the cash segment worth Rs 2895 crore while the Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs) bought equities to the tune of Rs 3,370.6 crore in the trading session yesterday, according to data available.
