New Delhi, Feb. 16 -- The Indian stock markets today snapped their two-day losing streak and ended higher in a volatile session, with the NSE Nifty finishing above the 25,650 mark, on brisk buying in Power, PSU Banks, Realty, Private Banks, Infra, Capital Goods and Energy sectors.

At close, the BSE Sensex rose by 650.39 points or 0.79 per cent to 83,277.15 and the NSE Nifty increased by 211.65 points or 0.83 pc to 25,682.75.

The BSE 150 Mid-Cap Index rose 0.64 pc, while the BSE 250 Small-Cap Index slipped 0.16 pc. The overall market capitalisation of BSE-listed firms rose to over Rs 468 lakh crore from Rs 465 lakh crore in the previous session.

Indian rupee closed unchanged at 90.66 per US dollar.
