Shimla/Chamba, March 29 -- Intensifying its anti-narcotics drive, the Special Task Force (STF) of the Himachal Pradesh Police achieved a major breakthrough in Chamba district on Sunday, recovering a substantial quantity of contraband and arresting one accused.

According to official information, the Nurpur-Chamba Field Unit of STF, acting on prior intelligence, laid a trap late Saturday night. During checking, a suspicious vehicle was intercepted and searched, leading to the recovery of 2.169 kilograms of Chura Post (Poppy husk) along with Rs 10,500 in cash.

The accused has been identified as Hardev Singh, son of Malkit Singh, a resident of Village Kalyanpur, Dakghar Bharana, Tehsil Nalagarh in Solan district. He was arrested on the spot, ...
