Lucknow, Aug. 30 -- Four interstate smugglers were arrested by the Special Task Force (STF) of Uttar Pradesh Police and the Food and Drug Administration Department which busted a network of illegal drug smuggling in Lucknow, a police spokesperson said.
The spokesperson said in a joint operation, a huge amount of raw material, including oxytocin injections worth Rs 2 crore being brought from Bihar were recovered.
The STF received a tip-off that some people smuggle in large quantities of oxytocin injections, adulterate it and supply it illegally in Lucknow and nearby districts. The chemical is dangerous for humans as well as animals.
The STF team contacted the local police and the drug department and arrested four smugglers from there.
