Agartala, Jan. 31 -- In a joint team of the Special Task Force (STF) and BSF carried out a surprise raid at the residence of notorious drug peddler Hafiz Mian at Yakubnagar of Dharmanagar in North Tripura today.
During the operation, a large cache of incriminating items, including sharp weapons, cash amounting to nearly Rs 3 lakh, a currency counting machine, detailed account registers linked to the drug trade, and a substantial quantity of empty polythene packets used for packing narcotics.
The seized materials clearly point towards the existence of an organized and well-funded drug trafficking operation being run from the premises. However, the prime accused Hafiz Miya managed to flee before the security personnel could apprehend him.
