Washington, Nov. 8 -- Despite the general agreement between the US and Israel regarding the ceasefire deal, one of the primary gripes that Jerusalem has, as per US envoy Steve Witkoff, is over Washington's appeal to Israeli authorities allow amnesty to over 100 to 200 Hamas operatives.
These operatives agreed to disarm in exchange for safe passage, and are currently holed up in tunnels beneath the city of Rafah.
Witkoff said that, as per the initiative, the fighters who are located within the Israeli-controlled part of Gaza, in accordance with the ceasefire agreement, will be allowed to leave unharmed, serving as a "model" for the broader part in ensuring Hamas' disarmament under the ceasefire plan's decommissioning and amnesty programme....
