Mumbai, March 7 -- On the occasion of World Cancer Day, a health check-up campaign is being conducted for 2.5 crore women in the state.

For this, 43,435 health check-up camps are being organised, and out of them, 1,252 camps have been conducted so far, Public Health Minister Prakash Abitkar informed on Friday in the Legislative Council.

Minister Abitkar was speaking while replying to a question raised by BJP member Chitra Wagh about measures to be taken on cervical and breast cancer, which are the most commonly diagnosed among women.

Opposition leader Ambadas Danve and members Uma Khapre, Manisha Kayande, and Pragya Satav participated in this discussion.
