New Delhi, Jan. 18 -- States and Union Territories on Monday gave several suggestions to Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for inclusion in the Union Budget she would present on February 1.
The finance minister held a pre-Budget meeting through video conference during which finance ministers of the States and UTs made the suggestions.
The meeting was so attended by chief ministers, deputy chief ministers, ministers and senior officers from the States and Union Territories and the Union government.
Sitharaman highlighted the importance of the meeting as a sign of co-operative federalism and indicated the manner in which the Union government was supportive of States/Union Territories fight against the pandemic.
