Jammu, Aug. 5 -- Observing August 5 as 'Black Day', amid protests, the Jammu and Kashmir Congress Party today said that statehood is the basic right of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and the BJP leadership has destroyed the Dogra identity with abrogation of Article 370.
Jammu and Kashmir Congress today observed Black Day on the 6th anniversary of the "downgrading" of the J&K state into the Union Territory and held demonstrations and dharnas all across the Jammu and Srinagar pressing for early restoration of full statehood to Jammu and Kashmir.
Congress is spearheading the movement for the restoration of statehood "Hamari Riyasat Hamara Haq" for the past over eight months.
