Mumbai, Sept. 23 -- Floods have caused widespread devastation across thirty districts of Maharashtra, resulting in eight fatalities and ten injuries within the last twenty-four hours, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced in Mumbai today.
The state cabinet has approved financial assistance of Rs 2215 crore to support farmers affected by the floods, with the aid scheduled to be transferred directly to the bank accounts of 31.24 lakh farmers within the next seven days.
During a press briefing following the cabinet meeting at Mantralaya, Chief Minister Fadnavis identified the Marathwada region, including districts such as Beed, Parbhani, Sambhajinagar, Dharashiv, and Latur, as the most severely impacted areas.
