Ranchi, Dec. 7 -- Jharkhand is facing an escalating environmental crisis.
A latest report by the Centre for Research on Energy and Clean Air (CREA) has issued a stark warning, revealing that 21 of Jharkhand's 24 districts have recorded PM2.5 levels above the national standard of 40 micrograms per cubic metre.
The findings indicate that the state is rapidly emerging as a pollution hotspot.
According to the report, industrial and mining belts are the biggest contributors to rising pollution levels.
Districts such as Dhanbad, Bokaro, Ramgarh, and Hazaribagh are experiencing severe air contamination due to emissions from coal mines and thermal power plants.
