Pune, July 30 -- Maharashtra Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil has assured that efforts will be made to include roll ball in the list of sports eligible for the prestigious Shiv Chhatrapati State Sports Awards.

He also pledged to advocate for 5 percent job reservation for roll ball players in the state, similar to the policy adopted by the Central Government.

Patil was speaking at a felicitation ceremony held in Pune today for the Indian girls' team that won the U-17 Roll Ball World Cup held in Nairobi, Kenya.

The event was attended by Raju Dabhade, founder of the sport, Maharashtra Roll Ball Association President Sandeep Khardekar, Dadasaheb Bhore, Pramod Kale, and other dignitaries.
