Kolkata, May 14 -- : The West Bengal cabinet on Wednesday approved an ex-gratia payment of Rs 25000 and Rs 20000 respectively for Group C and Group D staff from the 2016 School Service Commission panel who lost their jobs following a Supreme Court order earlier this month in connection with the cash-for-jobs scam.
Chief minister Mamata Banerjee on April 26 had announced the ex-gratia payment to be given to the families of the Group C and Group D staff for as long as the court case remains pending and on Wednesday it was approved by the state government.
