Sangli, March 16 -- Maharashtra and District Guardian Minister, Chandrakant Patil, on Sunday asked the district administration to start a counselling and treatment centre for addicted youths in the district on a pilot basis and assured to make funds available for this centre from the Social Responsibility Fund (CSR).

Presiding over the fifth meeting of the Narcotics Task Force held at the district collector's office here, he said that it is not enough to just educate addicted youths but to treat them.

Efforts should be made to establish a drug-free district model in the state, he said.

Patil said that this centre will be of help to people who were addicted to narcotic drugs.
