New Delhi, July 10 -- The Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre (IN-SPACe), the country's premier nodal agency overseeing space programmes, has approved a five-year license for Starlink to resume its commercial operations in India.

The move is seen as a commitment towards fulfilling India's digital ambitions.

The clearance is valid for five years from the date of issuance or till the end of the operational life of the Gen1 constellation. Starlink Gen1 is a global constellation network comprising 4,408 satellites orbiting various parts of the Earth.

The Authorisation given by the Indian government enables Starlink to foster internet connectivity throughout rural and remote areas, which were facing online challenges. ...
