Prayagraj, Jan. 29 -- Few pilgrims were reportedly injured during a stampede at Sangam bank on the occasion of Mauni Amavasya during Maha Kumbh, official sources said here.

Sources said that the incident took place around 2 am due to the heavy pressure of the crowd; however, it is yet to be confirmed by the Mela administration or police.

Sources said that the injured have been admitted to the central hospital. It is being claimed that relief and rescue work was carried out and the situation is under control.
