Chennai, May 30 -- Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK President M K Stalin
on Friday welcomed Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman's positive
consideration on the concerns raised by him over RBI's new gold loan norms that
would affect the poor and the middle class families.
While appreciating the positive consideration given by Ms Nirmala Sitharaman
on the issue, he said such policy decision which would have significant impact
on poor should be taken after due prior consultation with the States.
He said his consistent demand was that the interests of small borrowers, especially
those seeking loans below Rs. 2 lakh such as farmers and daily earners, should be
protected by ensuring timely and accessible credit.
