Chennai, March 1 -- Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK President M.K. Stalin turned 72 on Saturday.

As usual it was a low key birthday fete as he began the day by offering floral tributes to a portrait of his father and late Chief Minister and DMK Patriarch M Karunanidhi.

Later, accompanied by Ministers and senior party leaders, MPs and MLAs, he paid floral tributes at the memorials of DMK Founder and former CM C N Annadurai (popularly called as Perarignar Anna) and Mr Karunanidhi at the Marina beach front where he took a pledge to fight against Centre's attempts to impose Hindi in Tamil Nadu and the 3-language formula.

He also visited the Periyar Thidal and paid floral tributes at the memorial of social reformer Periyar E V Ramasamy...
