Chennai, May 5 -- A day after losing the Assembly elections, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin on Wednesday tendered his resignation, even as the political newbie and Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) Founder and actor-politician Vijay, who ended thesix-decade long Dravidian duopoly and won the elections in a stunning fashion, on Wednesday has sought an appointment withGovernor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar to formally stake his claim to form the next government.
Mr Stalin has sent in his resignation letter to the Governor and it was delivered in Lok Bhavan.
Meanwhile, C Joseph Vijay, whose TVK has emerged as the single largest party, staked claim to form the government, writing to the Governor seeking an appointment.
