Stalin leads TN in paying tributes to Periyar on his birth anniv

Chennai, Sept. 17 -- Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK President M K Stalinled the State in paying rich tributes to Dravidian icon and social reformer PeriyarE V Ramasamy on his 147th birth anniversary today.

On a visit to Trichy to take part in DMK's Mupperum Vizha in Karur later in theevening, Mr Stalin garlanded the statue of the Rationalist leader at the TrichyCentral bus stand and paid floral tributes to his portrait.

Senior DMK leaders, including Ministers and party functionaries were present onthe occasion.

Later, at the Trichy Collectorate campus, Mr Stalin administered the social justiceday pledge to the people.
