Chennai, Feb. 9 -- Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Monday inaugurated theexpansion of the free meal scheme to the sanitary workers in all Corporations, Municipalities,Panchayats and Town Panchayats and reaffirmed the government's commitment to supportthem as part of expanded welfare programmes aimed at improving their working conditionsand their quality of life.
Speaking at an event at Poovivakkam village in neighbouring Tiruvallur diistrict, Mr Stalinsaid the government stands firmly with these frontline field level workers and promised tocontinue to introduce measures keeping in mind their welfare.
