Chennai, Aug. 12 -- Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin today rolled out yet another
unique scheme, when he launched the Chief Minister's Thayumanavar Scheme, aimed
at delivering Ration items to elderly citizens and Differently-abled people at their doorsteps
ensuring food security.
The scheme will benefit 21,70,454 beneficaries including 20,42,657 (15,81,364 ration card
holders) elderly citzens above 70 years of age drawing ration items from 34,809 PDS shops
and 1,27,797 (91,960 ration cardholders) differently-abled people in 16,73,333 PDS shops.
Mr Stalin launched the scheme at Tondiarpet in North Chennai by visiting the residences
