Chennai, Jan. 14 -- Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin inaugurated the 'Chennai Sangamam-Namma Ooru Thiruvizha',a festival showcasing culture, tradition and over 50 art forms, including folk arts of the State on Wednesday evening.
This year's event has a new addition, a fashion show during the festival.
The inauguration featured performances by 250 artistes at the sprawling Rajarathinam Stadium at Egmore area in the city.
Organised during the annual Pongal festival, the event is the brainchild of DMK Parliamentary Party leader Ms Kanimozhiand brings together folk and classical artistes from across the State, who will perform at parks, stadiums, beaches, andother public spaces in Chennai from January 15 to 18.
