Chennai, Jan. 1 -- On the New Year Day, the Tamil Nadu government today announced a special Pongal bonusto the tune of Rs 183.86 croreS for Group C and D employees, teachers, pensioners and family pensioners aheadof the harvest festival to be celebrated llater this month.
In a statement here, Chief Minister M K Stalin said this would benefit 9.90 lakh employees, teachers and others.
He also announced allocation of Rs 183.86 crore for payment of bonus for the year 2024-25.
Mr Stalin said the Group C and D staffs will receive a bonus subject to a maximum of Rs 3,000 as a Pongal gift.
This includes support for those drawing consolidated pay or time-scale salaries.
