Kolhapur, Feb. 26 -- Inter-state bus services between Maharashtra and Karnataka, which had been suspended from both sides from February 22 following an alleged assault on a Marathi-speaking conductor in Chitradurga of southern state, resumed on Wednesday.
A bus arrived at Kolhapur from Belgaum this afternoon on a trial, however, regular bus services between the two neighbouring states will resume from Thursday (tomorrow).
A decision to resume ST bus services was taken in a virtual meeting held between collectors of Kolhapur and Belgaum districts--Amol Yedge and Mohammad Roshan, respectively.
In this meeting, it was decided to start bus services from both sides with police protection as a precautionary measure.
