New Delhi, Sept. 11 -- Around 60 suspected prisoners who had escaped from the prisons in Nepal amid the recent violent protests in the neighboring nation, and tried to enter India were held by the alert personnel of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) at the border, sources said.
According to sources, these suspected Nepalese prisoners were apprehended by the SSB personnel from the Indo- Nepal border in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and West Bengal.
The SSB, which is responsible for guarding the Indo-Nepal border, is on high alert amid the situation and its intelligence wing is also on its toes, placing every suspicious person entering India from the Nepal side under scrutiny.
