Chennai, Jan. 30 -- In a rare medical feat, the Chennai-based Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre (SRMC) provided a fresh lease of life for six patients by performing six simultaneous surgeries, including two for harvesting organs from two brain dead patients, in a record 24 hrs.

A SRMC release here said after harvesting the organs from two brain dead patients (a man and a woman), it readied six operation theatres and performed transplant surgeries.
