Chennai, May 2 -- Southern Railway has achieved a significant milestone in the 2025-26 fiscal with its Traction Distribution (TRD) assets registering their best ever performance, reflecting a sharp improvement in reliability and maintenance standards across the zone.
During the year, Southern Railway recorded just three asset failures, a noteworthy reduction from 13 failures in 2024-25, marking an impressive 77% improvement.
This outstanding performance places Southern Railway among the best performing zones in TRD asset management.
Railway officials said this achievement is the result of a paradigm shift in maintenance culture, driven by constant monitoring and proactive leadership.
