Chennai, Aug. 1 -- K.Arul Jothi today assumed charge as Inspector General-cum-Principal Chief Security Commissioner/Railway Protection Force (RPF), Southern Railway.
An Officer of the Indian Railway Protection Force Service (IRPFS) batch of 1995, Arul Jothi served the RPF in various capacities across North Frontier Railway, Integral Coach Factory/Chennai, Eastern Railway, East Central Railway, and other zones.
Notably, during his stint as DIG/Southern Railway in the 2019-2020 COVID-19 period, Arul Jothi, apart from controlling crime, spearheaded the RPF teams in organising the safe movement of migrant workers to various parts of the country through 503 Shramik special trains, a Railway release said.
