Bengaluru, Jan. 19 -- Former Karnataka Minister and BJP leader B Sriramulu has been booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act for allegedly disclosing the identity of a minor victim during a public speech at a BJP rally in Ballari on January 17.
Police said an FIR was registered following a complaint that Sriramulu revealed sensitive details of the minor, including her name, address, school and class, which is a violation of provisions under the POCSO Act that mandate protection of a child victim's identity.
