Srinagar, May 12 -- Srinagar Police has intensified its crackdown under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), targeting individuals linked with proscribed outfits.

On Monday as part of ongoing investigations into UAPA cases, police teams carried out extensive searches at eight locations across the city, focusing on the residences of suspected terrorist associates.

In Srinagar, the police have so far searched the residences of over 150 suspected terrorist associates over the last fortnight.

A police statement said the searches were conducted in accordance with proper legal procedures in the presence of Executive Magistrates and independent witnesses under the supervision of the officers of J&K Police.
