Srinagar, May 6 -- In a joint initiative to strengthen emergency response capabilities, Srinagar Police, in collaboration with the Tourist Police and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), conducted a mock drill in Dal Lake on Tuesday.
The exercise simulated rescue operations in the event of boat capsizing and drowning incidents, police said.
The drill comes in the wake of two recent boat capsize incidents in the lake over the past month, triggered by high-velocity winds, which resulted in the death of a local resident.
