Ramanathapuram, Feb. 20 -- The Sri Lankan Navy apprehended 10 fishermen from Tamil Nadu and seized three Indian mechanized fishing trawlers allegedly for poaching in its territorial waters, late on Wednesday night.
Fisheries department officials said here that the fishermen, hailing from Rameswaram were arrested by the Sri Lankan Navy, when they were engaged in fishing activities on the high seas close to the International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL).
The fishermen had set sail into the sea for routine fishing from Rameswaram fishing jetty yesterday morning.
