Colombo, March 5 -- Sri Lanka Cricket on Thursday confirmed the appointment of Jamie Siddons as the new head coach of the women's team.

The former Australian cricketer will begin his one-year stint on March 16, 2026 and will take on the responsibility of preparing the side for the ICC Women's T20 World Cup in June-July in England.

Siddon's first assignment will be Sri Lanka Women's Tour of Bangladesh, which is scheduled to take place in April-May 2026, according to ICC.

In a fine first-class career in Australia stretching 16 years, Siddons captained South Australia as well as Victoria. With 10,643 runs in Sheffield Shield, he is the third-highest run-scorer in Australia's premier domestic competition.
