Brisbane, Dec. 2 -- England have handed spin bowling all-rounder Will Jacks his Ashes debut, naming him in the playing XI for the second Test against Australia starting December 4 at the Gabba.

According to the International Cricket Council (ICC) website, Jack comes in as the only change to the side that suffered an eight-wicket defeat in the opening Test in Perth. He replaces injured fast bowler Mark Wood, with the rest of the line-up unchanged as England look to level the five-match series.

The 25-year-old has featured in two Tests so far, both during England's 2022 tour of Pakistan, where he claimed six wickets and scored 89 runs. His debut series also included a maiden five-wicket haul.
