Agartala, Sept. 17 -- A Special Protection Group (SPG) inspection team arrived in Tripura yesterday to oversee security arrangements ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's proposed visit to the state on September 22.

Officials said the elite security team held a series of meetings with senior officers of Tripura Police, central agencies, and administration to review preparedness. They also inspected the venue, routes, and public gathering areas where the Prime Minister is expected to attend programmes.

Though the detailed itinerary has yet to be officially released, sources indicated that PM Modi will not address any gathering but will only inaugurate the redevelopment premises of Tripura Sundari Temple in Udaipur, Gomati District. And, ...
