Nanded, Dec. 30 -- Five people were seriously injured after a speeding jeep crashed into three motorcycles in Nanded district, police said on Tuesday. The vehicle was returning from Tirupati Darshan carrying devotees from Jalna district when the driver reportedly lost control near Waka Phata.

According to police, the jeep hit a speed breaker and swerved forward, scraping and colliding with three motorcycles ahead of it.

Four of the injured have been identified as Mujahid Gulam Shaikh (22) of Rahmat Nagar, Nanded, Hanumant Manikrao (45), Shankar Bhamanna Bodlawad, and Avinash Sheshrao Kale (35). All were rushed to different hospitals in Nanded for treatment.
