Sultanpur, Oct. 8 -- One person died and another was missing when a speeding car lost control and plunged into the Sharda Canal near Dakhingaon in Baldirai of Uttar Pradesh, police said today.
Two other car occupants sustained injuries.
According to initial reports, the vehicle was moving at high speed when the driver lost control near Dakhingaon, resulting in the car falling into the canal last night.
Mitrsen Yadav (38), a resident of Dakhingaon, Baldirai, died on the spot.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident and suspect that overspeeding and loss of control caused the crash.
Meanwhile, Pappu Yadav, from Dhamthua, Ayodhya, was swept away by the canal's strong current and is still missing. Search operations are on. ...
