Patna, Aug. 21 -- In view of the Bihar Assembly elections likely to be held in October-November this year, the state police headquarters has constituted five special monitoring cells to ensure strict surveillance.

DIG (Economic Offences) Manvjeet Singh Dhillon said here today that these cells have been created under the Economic Offences Unit (EOU).

Dhillon informed that the five special cells will focus on curbing narcotics trafficking, monitoring cybercrime, keeping watch on social media, checking fake currency and tracking illegal cash transactions. During the elections, these specialised units will be responsible for maintaining strict vigilance over such unlawful activities.
