Kolkata, Dec. 15 -- In a significant development, 10 of West Bengal's 23 districts that share international borders account for more than one-third of the total proposed deletions in the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, highlighting longstanding concerns over porous borders and potential infiltration in these regions.
According to data obtained by UNI, 22,00,858 electors across these districts have been flagged for deletion, primarily on three grounds: death, change of residence, or absence during field verification, underscoring the scale of the exercise in the state's sensitive border belt.
