Barcelona, June 4 -- Two second-half goals from substitute Claudia Pina saw Spain overturn a 1-0 halftime deficit to beat England 2-1 in Group C of the UEFA Women's Nations League.
The victory secures Spain's place in the competition's finals in late October, while dashing England's hopes of progression.
England needed a win to advance to the finals and was on track at halftime, but Pina's introduction turned the 2023 World Cup final rematch on its head, as she worked space to score with a left-foot shot to level things up in the 60th minute just after coming on as a substitute on Tuesday.
