Lucknow, July 5 -- Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak today launched a blistering attack on the Samajwadi Party and its chief Akhilesh Yadav.

He said that Akhilesh underestimates the public's memory, but the people of UP are now alert and will no longer be misled by empty promises. Deputy CM Pathak alleged that during the SP government's 2012-2017 tenure, corruption, nepotism, illegal forest occupation, mining scams, and blatant misuse of government machinery were rampant. "That regime institutionalised corruption and empowered criminals at every level," he said, adding that the people of Uttar Pradesh have responded decisively by voting them out twice.
